Hey all! I am looking to buy a Wacom bamboo tablet to start (or more restart) my drawing. I’ve never used a tablet so would be good to get reviews and opinions on the tablets out there. I am looking to also use Clip Studio Paint Pro as I don’t need the features of the EX. I don’t mind paying the subscription for photoshop but I would rather use a program that’s just a one off payment. Any other programs out there or any advice on the PRO?? Any suggestions and opinions are welcome. I will probably still be inactive for a while as I relearn but hopefully you will see from me soon! X-phe

RP? Groups?

0 min read
So basically I want to RP with a couple of my characters. I was wondering if anyone was interested? There are a couple of characters I have that don't seem to have much of a background and then there's the characters like Euphe who do but would still like to RP with. Here is a list of characters I'm willing to RP with: Euphe or Xian - http://melixion.deviantart.com/art/Custom-Chibis-Commission-480476867 Aurora - (top right) http://x-phe.deviantart.com/art/CLOSED-Adoptable-Random-003-Set-Price-461663726 Lucas - http://nebeskaa.deviantart.com/art/CLOSED-Adoptables-LUPURRIES-Species-462888181 Chrome - http://x-phe.deviantart.com/art/Merry-

Having a tablet is actually not really needed. A lot of people selling tablets would like you to think you can't make art without a tablet and a mouse is a very bad thing to use.
The real truth is it is not about what you have but what you do with it.

I use a mouse, and you can take a look at my art to see what I could do with a mouse and you could watch a video that a lot of others watch the has a mouse and maybe one has a tablet.

If you have a mouse then the cursor setting are normally too fast, so you can move across the screen faster to click on big icons. You only need to move the mouse 1 or 2 inches to cross the screen, but if you slow down the cursor speed in the mouse settings, maybe the third tab and set it to the third notch, you will need to move in an area the size of a table or a little larger.

I help people use Photoshop, but Krita is a lot like Photoshop but not exactly. It can do almost everything I do in the video but color black and white, then it might need another away to do it.
Krita is a large program, because it can do animation and lest you draw up the animation so you can see each frame fade in a color, and you can work with a sound file to create a mpg cartoon.
Another program is FireAlpaca. I just used it in creating a table top because it has snap features to help artist do a lot of things, and it is easier to run on your computer.

When it comes to making art on your computer you are not the only one involved, because the computer will need to keep up with you, so if you see a lot of lag time with krita then use firealpaca, and if the is too much you can use smoothdraw. I have used a lot of programs because when I give advice I want it to be good advice, not just say what my company wants me to say to sell you something. I have not worked since 2008, so free is better, and that is what I support the most, and never tell anyone to rent Photoshop, because there are a lot of good programs for free.

I have a lot of other hobbies that I could do, but digital art is something I can do for free, and it will not cost me anything to use Photoshop because I have an old version, that was sold when I had money, not need to rent to do a job to get money. I think it is the artist doing the work that should be getting an income from their work not a program taking it and not be there when you need it for a job. So then a free program will be the only choice.

I assume you removed your question in the forums because you wanted it to be in the best forums, or because you don't have the money to spend on a tablet. So learning to use the mouse to draw should be a lot easier. Using the touch pad on a laptop, is a little hard but it is being done by some artist.

You build the skills to use any device you want, so let that device be what you already have.
I know the touch pad on a laptop like mine has more work space than a mouse without changing the setting to make it easier and more accurate to draw with. But with the setting you cam make the mouse better than the tablet.

If I didn't have the mouse with me I would use the touch pad first, even while I have a touch screen because I can't see what I am doing with my hand in the way, and the cursor is never in the way.
It is possible I used the tablet drawing rings in the table top with firealpaca.
I would use it a lot for things like that, but in Krita I can use a big brush to fill in shapes and use a feature called Stroke to draw a line around the shape to make the line art. I do so many different things with digital art like art that looks very real from my imagination to cartoon, animation, and 3D.

So I hope you find something to get started, because there is a lot you can do, and a lot to learn.
I see you have been here 7 years, and it might seem like giving up if you have not done anything by now, or just made traditional art you didn't like, but if you visit again I hope you can fine help that you need with my video tutorials through youtube.
With what I have seen of your art, you are working with pixels and some of my tutorials working with details is all about working with pixels, and I think that makes a great starting point to making better art, and maybe using references to draw what you see.
Thank you for the advice. I have used a mouse before with Photoshop and i did get on with it but I want something that’s a bit more ‘free flowing’. I felt a bit restricted with the mouse. I’ll probably still go for photoshop and maybe look around for a tablet but otherwise I would most likely go back to the mouse.
I think that it could help if you use the mouse settings to make it easier to work with the mouse by slowing down the cursor speed until you are more comfortable with it and notice the lines flow easier. I know when the computer has a problem keeping up with everything you do, it makes your lines look worse than you actually made them. I sketch idea on a small canvas, and a lot of things I do is on a small canvas. It looks like you do the same thing with your art, so adjusting the mouse could make likes flow better. Too slow and you make mistakes because it is not fast enough, and too fast and the computer makes mistakes or you make small twitches. You can tel when the brush works better with doing a slash. because it is a quick motion it should be smooth, and if it is not, then the computer has the problem not you. Then you can make changes to make it easier for the computer.

There is a very small program that work great for lines and not stabilize anything. It just keeps up with you, and does everything you do. The program is free and it might be too simple, but it makes smooth lines if you can. It is called SmoothDraw, and you might find it at SmoothDraw.com.

When I work on details I zoom in, and I try not to view everything smaller than you would see it. It might be fine to sketch out lines, but I make them look better getting closer than anyone would see, so a medium size mistake might look very small or not something you would notice at 100% view.

I think maybe that was a waste of time saying because you might already know that.
Your icon is so cute!!
Aww thank you <3
Thank you very much for the watch <333
